“Huckleberry” is a four year old Registered Appaloosa Gelding. If you are looking for a super flashy boy with all the heart in the world, you have found him.
Huckleberry is enrolled in my Ultimate Trail Horse Program. He has the beatiful mindset that I look in a horse to finish. He treis so hard to please and is quiet minded and family friendly.
This boy has been logging many miles on the trails and is our go to mount for the less confident riders. He is not one to spook or have a ton of energy but it not lethargic and dull to the aids either. Huck crosses water easily, climbs steep hills handily, holds his weight properly descending steep banks, crosses logs and deep mud carefully and is not bothered by traffic, dogs or new horses.
Huckleberry is doing the obstacles well. He is curious and confident. He enjoys the mental stimulation and is willing to try new things.
He has done a lot of desensitizing work and stands quietly for traps, plastic bags, the leaf blower, bouncing balls and whatever we can come up with.
Now doing his finishing in the arena work. He is learning how to be soft and supply, moving all his body parts and getting balanced and through. He goes very nicely at all gaits on a super draped rein, no rushing or constant checking needed. He moves off the leg and backs and sidepasses as well. He will continue his training to finish out all the refinement. Lessons can be included for his new owner, to help the transition to a new home. Very calm, level headed and willing to please.
